Privacy Policy

Legal review status: this draft is based on the shared legal-pages/v1 standard and remains review-gated until Brandon or counsel approves final legal text. It documents the current ClickRank V1 behavior and does not authorize new tracking, payments, accounts, or production legal commitments.

About ClickRank

ClickRank is a public affiliate review and content SEO site. The current static Astro site lets readers browse reviews, categories, search pages, editorial disclosures, feeds, and approved outbound offer routes without creating an account.

ClickRank does not currently operate reader accounts, paid subscriptions, checkout, wallets, protected app dashboards, public comments, or user-generated content submissions.

Information we may receive

We may receive information in these limited ways:

  • Information you choose to send by email, including your email address, message content, and any context you include.
  • Basic technical information normally processed by hosting, security, logging, browser, and CDN infrastructure when you visit a public website.
  • Aggregate or pseudonymous usage information from optional analytics providers only after the relevant consent is granted and the provider is configured in the public environment.
  • Affiliate routing context when you click an approved outbound route, such as the page and link needed to send you to the official offer or marketplace destination.

ClickRank uses the shared EXC-279 consent categories:

  • Necessary: required site delivery, security, routing, and the clickrank.cookieConsent.v1 consent record stored in local storage when available.
  • Preferences: reader interface preferences such as dark-mode preference storage if a future UI setting allows it. The current site defaults to a dark theme and does not need preference storage to render pages.
  • Analytics: optional analytics loaded only after consent, currently supporting environment-configured Cloudflare Web Analytics, Plausible Analytics, or Google Analytics 4.
  • Marketing: not used by ClickRank V1. No marketing pixels, ad retargeting cookies, or marketing automation tags are loaded by the current site.

Rejecting non-essential categories does not block access to reviews, categories, search, editorial pages, privacy pages, or outbound offer context.

Analytics providers

Optional analytics are disabled unless a reader grants analytics consent and the corresponding public environment variable is configured. The current code supports these providers:

  • Cloudflare Web Analytics from static.cloudflareinsights.com when PUBLIC_CLOUDFLARE_WEB_ANALYTICS_TOKEN is set.
  • Plausible Analytics from plausible.io when PUBLIC_PLAUSIBLE_DOMAIN is set.
  • Google Analytics 4 from googletagmanager.com when PUBLIC_GA4_MEASUREMENT_ID is set, configured with IP anonymization.

These providers may process usage data according to their own terms and privacy documentation.

Some outbound links redirect to ClickBank vendor pages, checkout pages, or other official offer destinations. ClickBank, vendors, checkout providers, analytics providers, embedded third-party services, and destination sites may use their own cookies, pixels, analytics, payment tools, or tracking technologies once you leave ClickRank. Their policies apply on their sites.

How we use information

We use information to operate and secure the site, respond to messages, maintain editorial quality, understand aggregate site performance when analytics consent allows it, debug routing issues, document affiliate disclosures, and comply with legal or platform obligations.

We do not sell reader account data because ClickRank V1 does not maintain reader accounts. We do not knowingly collect child-directed data, and the current product scope does not include child-focused features.

Data retention

Email messages are retained as long as needed to respond, maintain business records, or handle legal obligations. Aggregate analytics retention depends on the configured analytics provider. Local storage entries remain in your browser until you clear them, change consent settings, or browser policies remove them.

Your choices

You can reject optional analytics in the cookie banner, reopen Cookie settings from the site footer area, clear browser local storage, block third-party scripts in your browser, or avoid clicking outbound vendor links. Changes to this policy

We may update this draft as the product, providers, or shared standard changes. Product-scope changes such as accounts, billing, marketing pixels, user submissions, or child/YMYL features require fresh acceptance criteria and legal review before launch.
