Cookie Policy

Legal review status: this draft is based on the shared legal-pages/v1 and cookie-consent-standard.md standard. It remains review-gated until Brandon or counsel approves final legal text, and it does not authorize new tracking or production legal commitments.

ClickRank uses the EXC-279 standard cookie and storage categories:

  • Necessary: required for site delivery, security, routing, accessibility, and remembering your cookie consent choice when local storage is available. Necessary storage cannot be disabled through the banner.
  • Preferences: optional reader interface preferences, such as theme choices if a future control is added. The current site defaults to dark mode without requiring preference storage.
  • Analytics: optional measurement tools that help ClickRank understand aggregate page usage after consent.
  • Marketing: advertising, retargeting, or marketing automation tags. ClickRank V1 does not use this category.

ClickRank’s current first-party inventory is intentionally small:

NameCategoryProviderPurposeStored as
clickrank.cookieConsent.v1NecessaryClickRankRecords whether analytics, preferences, and marketing categories were accepted or rejected so the banner does not reappear on every page.Browser local storage

The current site does not set first-party HTTP cookies for accounts, billing, sessions, checkout, comments, or admin access.

Optional analytics inventory

Analytics scripts load only after you accept the analytics category and only when the matching public environment variable is configured:

ProviderCategoryLoaded fromConfiguration gateNotes
Cloudflare Web AnalyticsAnalyticsstatic.cloudflareinsights.comPUBLIC_CLOUDFLARE_WEB_ANALYTICS_TOKENPage-level analytics beacon.
Plausible AnalyticsAnalyticsplausible.ioPUBLIC_PLAUSIBLE_DOMAINPrivacy-focused analytics script with outbound-link support.
Google Analytics 4Analyticsgoogletagmanager.comPUBLIC_GA4_MEASUREMENT_IDConfigured with IP anonymization in ClickRank’s loader.

If these variables are empty, accepting analytics records consent but does not load a provider script.

Marketing inventory

ClickRank V1 does not load marketing pixels, ad retargeting tags, customer-list syncs, or marketing automation cookies. The marketing category is present in the consent model for standard compatibility and future review, but it is disabled in the current banner because there is no marketing provider to enable.

Affiliate and vendor cookies

ClickRank links to official ClickBank or vendor pages through approved outbound routes. Once you leave ClickRank, ClickBank, vendors, checkout providers, and other destination sites may use their own cookies, pixels, fraud-prevention tools, affiliate attribution, analytics, checkout, or marketing technologies. Their policies apply on their sites.

Use the Cookie settings control to reject non-essential categories or accept analytics. Rejecting analytics or marketing does not block access to reviews, categories, search, editorial pages, or outbound offer context. You can also clear local storage in your browser to reset the saved choice.

Changes to this policy

We may update this draft as ClickRank’s providers, product scope, or the shared legal standard changes. Adding new analytics, marketing, payments, accounts, or child/YMYL features requires a scoped issue and approval before production use.
